I saw this doll on eBay a couple years ago and it spoke to me. (Not audibly.)
I had to have it.
I took some pictures with him and then stored him in
our Annabelle room the closet, and I feel like George needs a better forever home, somewhere he can thrive. Also, Jess feels like he’s taking up space in our home and our psyches and it’s time to set him free.
I couldn’t find much information about the doll online, which means he’s definitely rare and, for all I know, priceless. What I can tell you is that he is 27 inches from the top of his yarny head to the soles of his black feet. And, according to the tag, he was made of new polyester by Mary Purcell in 1975 and is trademarked as “Martha’s George.”
I promise that this doll is not actually haunted, and it has also 100% never asked me if I want to play a game while riding a tricycle by itself, and it for sure doesn’t whisper nightly in an almost inaudible combination of Latin and backwards English.

Enjoy Season 2, and thank you for helping us get the word out to find and grow our audience!
UPDATE 11/9/2020: Congratulations to Brittany Bartow for winning!! Here’s a picture she sent of George in his new home, with a bust of John Adams to keep him company. Forever.
