This year’s Intelligent Speech Conference is coming up soon – Saturday, April 24, 2021 – and I’m honored to be a part of it!
I will be on a panel with three other history podcasters – Jerry Landry of Presidencies of the United States, Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky of The Past, The Promise, The Presidency and author of The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution, and Kenny Ryan of Abridged Presidential Histories. The conference theme is “escape” and we’ll be escaping from the male-dominated topic of the presidents to focus on some of the women who shaped the early presidencies.

Intelligent Speech 2021
Intelligent Speech 2021 is a virtual conference, featuring eight hours of fascinating presentations from 40 different content creators from the worlds of podcasting, YouTube, and history. Each session is 40 minutes long, and at any one point viewers will have the option of four individual conference streams to watch and participate in.
There will also be three keynote speakers – Liz Covart of Ben Franklin’s World, David Crowther of History of England, and Rudyard Lynch of What If Alternate History.

Topics include stories of enslaved people’s escapes from Monticello, Tudor family escapes from the Tower of London, and rare Chinese escapes from Mongols. There will also be some exciting looks at vice in the Victorian era, the Iranian Revolution of 1979, excavating LGBTQ history, and medical leeches.
